 Cecil L. Maupin, Jr., 73, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Western Plains Medical Complex at Dodge City, KS. He was born on August 12, 1933 at Salina, KS the son of Cecil Leroy Maupin Sr. and Helen J. (Griffin) .

Mr. Maupin married Margaret A. "Peg" Watson on September 3, 1953 at Folkston, Georgia. He was the owner and operator of Maupin Truck Parts until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Maupin loved his Harleys and was very dedicated to the Dodge City Patriot Guard. He loved traveling in his motor home and riding his harley as well as following the World of Outlaws.

He was a member of First Christian Church, Dodge City Hog Chapter, Dodge City Patriot Guard, and Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post # 1714 Survivors include: Wife, Peg Maupin of the home,a daughter,Diane and husband Todd Tabor of Dodge City; three sons,Jay and wife Marlene Maupin of Jetmore, Chris Maupin and Butch Maupin both of Dodge City, grandaughter, Christina Stepp of Denver, Colordo, grandaughter, Stephanie and husband Brandon Baudin of Denver, Colorado, grandson, Kevin Ross Tabor and fiance Julie Scharth of Pittsburg, Kansas, grandson, Joey Maupin of Dodge City, grandaughter, Jessica Maupin of Jetmore, and grandaughter, Megan Maupin of Jetmore. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marian Berghaus.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Doug Harris presiding. Burial with military rites by Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post # 1714 will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City, KS. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Dodge City Patriot Guard in care of Swaim Funeral Home 1901 Sixth Ave. Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
